Before sending a notice
Confirm that you own the copyrighted work or are authorised to act for the owner, identify the specific material and consider whether the use may be licensed, authorised or legally permitted. Knowingly submitting a false claim may have legal consequences.
Information required in a notice
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or a representative list if multiple works are involved.
- The exact URL and enough information for us to locate the allegedly infringing material.
- Your name, organisation if applicable, postal address, telephone number and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement that the information is accurate and, under penalty of perjury where applicable, that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.
Where to send a notice
Email the complete notice to hello@searchar.in with the subject “Copyright Notice”. You may also request the current postal contact through that address. Incomplete notices may delay review.
Review and removal
We may request additional information, restrict access to material while a claim is reviewed, notify the person who supplied the material, or remove content where appropriate. Submission of a notice does not guarantee removal when the claim is incomplete or the use appears authorised or legally permitted.
Counter-notice
If your material was removed because of a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice identifying the removed material and its former location, explaining the basis for restoration, providing your contact information and including the statements and consent to jurisdiction required by applicable law.
Because copyright procedures can create legal consequences, consider obtaining advice from a qualified lawyer before submitting a notice or counter-notice.
